Today, on the way home from work, I stopped at McDonalds and got a hot fudge sunday. Although the sunday didn't have enough chocolate on it, it will still probably be the highlight of my weekend.

Today I feel even more insignificant and alone than usual.
That is all.

well... I managed to go to sleep at 5pm friday night and sleep through to 7am saturday morning, only waking up a couple times around 3am. I did almost the same sunday night. I went to sleep with a headache at 8pm, woke up for an advil at midnight, and slept until 8am.
Not sure why my body or mind want me to sleep so much...

...feeling more reclusive than normal lately. I had to argue with my parents this morning to stop them from coming to help work on the house. I have been slow to return phone calls from friends, and I've been staying off the messengers. I barely left the trailer this weekend.
Yesterday, my mom showed up despite my asking otherwise. She wanted to go look at the place that our family's camp and my condo used to be. It was erie to see familiar things in the context of destruction. I stared down at the floor tiles I had walked on daily for 5 years then looked up to see not the usual walls and windows my mind expected, but the horizon all around.
Time for a nap.

I;ve been scrubbing and demolishing and tearing down and ripping out and hauling off for months. I need to construct and create something for a change.

Happy birthday to me.
Over the last couple years, I've moved from indifference to dislike of birthdays. I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old.

I can;t seem to piece together posts these days.
Last weekend I dove on a sunken tug that maybe two or four other people have dove. It was sunk in May about 25 miles off the coast of pascagoula in 90ft of water.
Next week I;ll be in West Virginia for a certian government agency's Software Assurance Symposium. I was requested by name to attend by said agency. The neat thing is that the request came when I was out on two week disciplinary suspension.
I had been making good headway on my bike repair, but I;ve been on hold waiting on this latest parts shipment. Hopefully I can have it back on the road in a couple weeks. I rode it around the block for the first time since my ill-fated voyage early last november.
I need to figure out where I want to go next.

FYI... I got ratted out by a "friend" at work for personal internet usage. There was a month long investigation, and I ended up getting two weeks suspension w/o pay b/c they had me down for 1hr54min average internet usage per day.
I've been deleting and undeleting my journal a lot as to keep it away from prying eyes.
I do not yet know if I want to continue working where I work.
I hope everyone's lives have been super cool lately.

|Nothing really to report
I'm still alive.
I don't know if anyone reads this.
Life has been going ok lately. Other than playing too much warcraft, I'm hoping to teach myself to take advantage of my time a bit better. I tend to complain about being too busy when I'm busy and bored when not.
I finally got some bike parts for the big rebuilding effort. I'm sure I'll post some pictures and info as that project progresses. I bet everyone can't wait for that one... hah
I've been coding "for fun" in delphi7/object pascal on my laptop at work lately as an attempt to maintain sanity.
My last 4 dive trips have been cancelled due to weather and lack of interest. The next scheduled trip is for the last week of June.
I'll probably be getting my wisdom teeth pulled soon. I'm nervous.
That;s about it. Current Mood: okay

I think I made some good headway working on my bike last night. After the crash, I had a slow oil leak in the lower portion of the engine. It wasn't bad, only left about a nickel sized spot on the garage every couple weeks, but it bothered me and needed to be addressed. I pulled the bike out and simple greened the hell out of the undercarriage with all the plastics removed. I had been watching this oil leak for a few weeks now and evidence led to either a crack in the lower motor/crank casing or a problem with the oil pan sealing surface. While cleaning the motor, I checked the 8mm oil pan bolts and found the one nearest the leak to be loose. I was able to move it fairly easily with a 1/4" drive, so I snugged it back up. I can't find any of my torque wrenches, but I need to torque it to 80ft-lbs. I may go ahead and change the pan seal to be sure. I'm super anal when it comes to mechanic work, which is part of the reason why I both love and hate it. Tearing into a project is intimidating, but the satisfaction of completing it to my standards is very rewarding. Once I'm certain that the oil leak is repaired, I will begin ordering parts for the other repairs, starting with the left rearset. I also think I have located a painter. He paints mostly show bikes, and has done some really impressive and award winning work.( Before PicturesCollapse )

I found out that the app I was planning to code has already been done, so I spent the afternoon perusing google maps: http://perljam.net/notes/interesting-google-satellite-maps/
My life sometimes fills up with maintenance tasks. When that happens, I feel countering with a creative project helps stave off some of the frustration. I need a project that I can start, and more importantly FINISH in a definite time window. Fixing broken stuff only buys time until something else breaks.

In a recent fit of geekery, I brought my laptop into work today to start coding a new app "for fun."
